Takes deep breaths and tries to keep it together

Seriously, I cannot figure this out, and there is now an increasing number of randomly named mood themes accumulating and I cannot take a screen shot to prove that I am not insane and the computer is spitting out marshmallow unicorns along with puppies and rainbows again! And nobody believes me!!!

*fails miserably at keeping it together*

I think I need to write something instead of fooling around with this.

ETA - Predictably, I was not able to let this go.

I have now figured out how to get into the individual themes I've uploaded. This is both good and frustrating. Some of the image addresses seem to have had their .gif or just the f left off - and why the heck did the thingymabob tell me they'd been uploaded successfully if they - you know - hadn't? Others seem to be just mysteriously wrong and I'm having only spotty luck copy/pasting and replacing the mood name. This is really ridiculous - completely and utterly.

Also - why did the one theme work out fine while the other caused the computer to start spitting marshmallow unicorns at me? I have nothing against the theme which works, and honestly I'm growing fonder of it by the second, but I just sort of like the borders on the other one and my original lofty goal was to combine the two after I'd done a bit of comparison.

But now - it's a THING - and I have to FIX IT. sigh. At least I'm able to be aggravated, though really I'm more tired, but I'm not willing to give in to that quite yet.

Editing again in an effort to keep from spamming 'yall. Tactical error? I deleted all the problem attempts and tried to start over, but this new one doesn't want to work at all...so I'm giving it a moment in case this is just a photobucket delay. I'm now sitting next to a table of half a dozen middle-aged men discussing Project Runway. Have I mentioned lately that I love my neighborhood? :-)

Edited yet again to say - I give up.

Are you using Notepad to find/replace the doc tags? I'm assuming you are, since mood themes usually come with instructions. My codes look like this: moodtheme_setpic 12345 90 http://www.hosting.com/accomplished.jpg 90 50 And of course you have to find/replace the 'www.hosting.com' with your own photobucket url.

Frustrating. Wish I had a dollar for all the hours I've spent being thwarted by the intarwebz.

Yes, notepad, though initially the mac equivalent. And that's the thing - one of them worked and the other didn't. I did the same thing! And now I can't get it to work even partially! I don't know which is worse, the random ones not working or it now not working at all.

sigh. the internet just wins. I totally just concede.

I've never tried to do a mood theme so unfortunately I have no advice for you! I can commiserate though on how annoying it is when computers conspire against you. *shakes fist at computers and the internet*

Thank you very much! I really knew that I shouldn't attempt it, and I held out quite admirably for a while. But the tutorials were so soothing, and the really frustrating thing is that one worked perfectly while the second went disastrously wrong - and I did exactly the same thing for both! This is what drives me crazy about computers.

oh, I totally need to catch up on your picspams! *off to catch up*
