Before addressing the important issues - I believe the musical term is actually motive - I took this from research and was not corrected by my music guru - I'm very much hoping I've got it right!

And on to the important bits:

I cannot believe I almost induced tears, the thought is incredibly humbling. I love and hate this scene. I curse whatever invisible being which whispered into my brain that putting Sherlock on a roof was a good (or at least interesting) idea. I love it because I think it works incredibly well for this particular story, and I hate it because this is the scene which convinces me that I am the only person on Earth that John and Sherlock run away from; other awful people they dash after to put them in jail - they don't even want me in jail - they want nothing to do with me!

Please, do join me in wanting to punch Mummy in the face. If that is wrong, I am happy to be wrong right along with you. The general idea of the parents ended up being people who never should have had children but did it because it was expected. If I could plausibly have John thrash Mummy as well, I would put it in. I think we'll have to live with a severe set down from Grandmother.

I'm so glad you're enjoying? this. Soon there is a case! This helps with Sherlock's mental re-balancing immensely! And he and John tutor the kiddies!
