I know - I'm actually feeling rather bad for Grandmere - he is her son, after all. I'm going to neatly avoid having to address that. But it was totally, totally satisfying.
When I was writing the Mycroft gift sequence I realized that all of the 'flying stuff in' and 'being thwarted at every turn' which he's doing in the Much Ado year is him completely and utterly failing to give his lady love the gift he wants to give her. These two really are just adorable - deadly intentions aside!
Brotherly love is all I need with these two. There is a lot of good fic out there slashing them, which is being produced by excellent writers! But I'm cool with brothers in all but blood. :-)
