Has anyone been to Toronto?

Frommer's is making it seem like a great walking city, and I'm thinking this may be the birthday trip this year. Airfare is reasonable and turns an eight hour drive into a 90 minute flight, which, even when you add in airport time ends up being a win.

I haven't, but my parents have, and they really adored it. Dad said he could happily live in Toronto, and he doesn't say that about many cities that aren't Chicago.

Toronto is also the home of Glenn Gould, one of his musical idols, so that might have something to do with it.

I've been there 3 times for get togethers. There are tons of things to do- museums, restuarants, parks, bars, a fricking enormous mall, and more.

Youngest brother went there ith a bunch of friends and they went to all the places mentioned in the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels.

Be sure to check out Sneaky Dee's, which is a Mexican resturant/bar/club. They have HUGE portions.

You can walk, take the subway, and I think they had mass transit above ground too, but I can't remember. We wandered through their Chinatown on the way to a hotel, but we didn't have time to check anything out.

My husband worked in Toronto for a while some years ago and he says it had a nice downtown and waterfront and at least those areas were walkable and had a lot going on. He spent most of his time there working not exploring (since he was going back and forth from Mass.) so he doesn't know much about the rest of the area.

Thanks! I think I'm going to go with it. It sounds like a great city for museums and concerts and such.
