Random Thoughts
While walking this weekend I found myself wishing I had brought my camera. There was a lovely reddish wrought iron fence with an evergreen growing picturesquely between two of its intricate finials, and a beautifully red cardinal – which I probably would have missed with the camera as he flew off quite promptly. I was also delighted by a sweet black puppy – actually fully grown – who was trotting down the street with his, obviously just purchased, fluffy pink dolly happily clutched in his mouth.

Californication - I'm usually a bit torn on this show. It's good - but a lot of the time it feels like it only exists to shock, which, well, okay - to each his own – but, by its very nature that can get a little wearying; like someone jumping from behind a door to startle you, but doing it multiple times a day instead of once a week which would, in the end, prove much more effective. It's a shared watch, and I don’t dislike it enough to say 'Watch that on your own time, I can't be bothered.' Besides, I like Mulder and they had Megan from Numb3rs one season, and she rocks.
But one of the most recent eps - I have no idea anymore when anything airs, I just sometimes think - hey, shouldn't I have that on my dvr listing by now? - starts off with Hank saying I Told You So to the Rapper turned Actor who is ripping off Beverly Hills Cop – No man, this is set in Santa Monica, Bro - and who he is currently employed by. Said Rapper is having no luck pulling off Classic Movie Line 'you're gonna need a bigger gun' as he wrestles some poor stunt extra to the ground, I imagine not for the first time. You can’t just rip that shit off, MF, Hank basically tells him. We then get ‘the girl’ in this cop flick spouting something similar to ‘help me, Hank Moody, you’re my only hope’.
I was exceedingly entertained.
