Speaking as someone without a British IP address, the BBC doesn't seem nearly as picky about who accesses radio shows versus television - perhaps try the BBC iplayer desktop - it is quite insistent in firing itself up whenever I restart, but I have been able to access Johannesburg as a 'rerun' so I'm not inclined to argue with it.
