impulsereaderI can report back that the intros by Steven Moffat (A Study in Scarlet) and Mark Gatiss (The Adventures of Shelock Holmes) are delightful. I know this because I read them in a bookstore today.

“There’s a newsletter?”
Annoyed at the interruption, Sherlock didn’t even try to keep the techiness from his voice. “What are you on about?”
“I’ve been sent an email newsletter about the Production.”
Mention of the Production immediately chased away his irritation. “Oh? That’s new. What does it say?” He got up to read over John’s shoulder.
“We’re supposed to have learned our lines by now.”
Sherlock snorted in derision. “What else? Anything helpful?”
“What exactly would be helpful aside from my suddenly being possessed by the spirit of John Barrymore?”

Right. So the new fic is currently, quite alarmingly, outgrowing by leaps and bounds the reason for its existence. I realized that what I really needed to do was insert an ACD plot into each of the holiday sections. I'm seriously considering The Speckled Band for the second part, but could use any suggestions on something relatively short and straightforward that could conceivably include one of a shooting party getting shot - the intention being to cover an attempt on his life by having him surrounded by people shooting guns. (Because, natch, John, Anthea et al get in on the shooting party)
Other things swirling around my head:
I need a science experiment which Sherlock could do with the kids. I'd like it to be borderline inappropriate - like it involves blood or something.
Where and when should I have Much Ado set? Basically, what sort of dress would you like to see me put Sherlock into?
Richard Hannay is a great actor. Who should I cast him as in MacBeth and Much Ado?
I am not giving Mycroft and Sherlock any additional siblings. I am seriously considering chickening out and finding some reason why their parents are not making the trip either.
Cabin Pressure - I'm hoping to get some in on YouTube soon, but would it be believable character-wise for Martin if: Mycroft has Anthea charter a flight to the estate with the sole purpose of kidnapping Martin and bringing him in as a ringer to play Dogsberry?
