I've begun with Rose Daughter because I wanted to go in reverse order this time, and Beauty is not only first in sequence, but McKinley's first written novel.

A couple of links I've been checking out to add to the experience:

McKinley's site where she talks about Rose Daughter as well as Beauty and how events in her life shaped the books.
A review looking at both books and the differences between them at tor.com

Here's the first volume I'm seeing which is told from the Beast's POV, I'm sure there are more, I'm just taking this slowly - Beast by Donna Jo Napoli - going into my Amazon cart...

I'm not claiming I'm fantastic or fool-proof, but I'm good at spelling words fairly instinctively at this point in my life - watch me post this entry with some ridiculous error, that would teach me - but I have this entry popping up near the top of my friends page telling me that this person thinks 'mutany' - this is the subject line of a post featuring a vintage ad dealing with Pepsi vs. Coke back in the day - is going to effectively fuel whatever feud this comm is having with LJ.  The ad has some unhappy dude in a lifeboat who I presume is the unlucky captain who has been 'mutanied' against bemoaning their lack of coca cola.  Well, I caught this a couple hours ago, and I was the first comment - Sorry, but you've spelled mutiny wrong. - well, refreshing before I turn in for the night, a quick breather from writing, there are two more comments - Oh, I think, cool.  They've fixed it and we're all good.  Nope.  Two completely unrelated comments, neither of which mention this blatant misspelling.  Why does no one care?  Why?  I understand that the English language is in constant flux and that Shakespeare spelled things differently than I do.  I still consider that this is a very different thing and I long for people to care about fixing typos, whether they are caused by accident or ignorance.
