Solidarity for those not on Holiday

So yesterday, quarryquest and I were bemoaning the fact that no one wanted to talk to us.  Boo!  And I remarked that I was consequently holding off on a post in which I wanted to ask everyone to weigh in on some you can imagine issues.  Then I realized that 221b_hound is posting fic and chloris just got a new puppy!  Also, seren_ccd just got back from holiday and is consequently feeling the withdrawal.  Djarum99 lives somewhere where the weather is actually nice and I envy her with every fiber of my being.

So, here are some completely random and inane things that are swirling around in my head.  Feel free to address one or many, or ignore them all completely to throw in some of your own.  The goal is simply to talk to each other.
