1. Start writing fanfic.
2. Arrange to have your brain taken over by a prompt.
3. Go to Toronto, where on day 2 your MP3 player will likely decide it has played all those songs too many times already and spit them all out into the ether.
4. Buy a new MP3 player.
5. Fill it with songs from CDs you liked enough to actually buy.
6. Ask your flist what they'd like to see John and Sherlock get up to.
7. Go to the Botanic Garden to get inspiration for writing John and Sherlock getting up to hijinks in Kew Gardens.
8. Get lost trying to find the 'wood' you walked past twice while looking for it. (There are no signs in this place except to the parking lots.)
9. Enter the wood.
10. At this point your new MP3 player's random mode will very kindly queue up "You're Fabulous" from the Phineas & Ferb soundtrack followed by "Forest Lawn" from An Evening with John Denver.
Dancing will ensue. I guarantee it.
Lessons learned: Me - never let someone else decide what songs go onto your MP3 player, it is much more fun when you've done it yourself. You - if you ever come across a grown woman either photographing a lemon or dancing (dorkily and very, very badly) along a woodland path, do come over, tap me on the shoulder and introduce yourself. I'll be happy to share the song I'm currently mocks-trotting along to.
