Hmm. From what I remember about (a) picking up shotgun cartridges and (b) actually eating pheasant that has been shot is that you get lots and lots of little metal pellets that you have to be very careful not to crack your teeth on. In that case 221b_hound probably has the correct information. Depends how badly shot the person was, but a trip to the local casualty department is definitely in order.
