Hm. Well, I was imagining that for the sake of convenience Sherlock would go to the shop nearest the flat - but - he's in a cab and dropping John somewhere on the way, so he could technically go anywhere. He would, of course, take a cab home with all the groceries as well.
I - kind of think that he'd avoid the brands that are branded as used by Royalty - don't you think? Isn't that funny, too? He takes it as a challenge to not buy any of them while still getting the stuff on the list? (I mean, he totally ends up designating the list firmly 'just suggestions' but he's not an idiot, and it's his present to John so he'll at least make an effort to bring home the desired items.)
Oh, that's lovely, enforced multiples is comedy gold. :-)
