Ah yes - the look of a cat when you are squinting at a screen and counting is indeed something to behold and not in a good way! And I have to say that even Pages (on my ipad) has a better word count function than Word - you'd think that the worlds most used word processor would be able to count properly, wouldn't you *flings hands in air and gestures wildly* but no - which is why I love Scrivener so very much.
