Zebras and their stripes are such a zen creation. Beautiful photos, as usual, and I love the sweet little fox. I grew up in Illinois and we visited the zoo a few times in Chicago when I was a kid. I remember driving into the city at night, and the brick apartment buildings that lined the freeway. You could look into the windows and see little lamplit snapshots of other people's lives. Photography is fascinating in the same way. Not to pimp my own fic, but I had a wonderful time researching Camera Obscura and reading about female photographers of the 30s and 40s.
holy cats. thanks. i grew up in the suburbs and we rarely journeyed into the city - in a classic example my grandmother and I decided to walk to the Sears Tower because we could see it so it must be not that far - and somehow I imagined that the city itself was surrounded by a circular sort of wall that could only be reached through the entrances allotted to trains.
My real desire at the moment is to get out to Brookfield Zoo and wander around, but my Saturdays keep getting hijacked. We shall see if this actually happens. It is entirely the opposite of free as LPZ happens to be and I sometime am all - really? you really need to charge me that much?
I know, I'm wondering how they aren't just constantly having to replace those cute little things. It's a restaurant and I feel like there have to be all sorts of unscrupulous people willing to stuff them in their purse (ok, typed that and realized I'm insinuating all these criminals are women, lol) on the way out.
The fennec foxes are more securely watched over, but they have to be because they are so damn cute that it is hard to believe they exist...and they could still fit in most of my purses. (see, not women, just me)
