I saw these umbrellas when I bought my new lamp and I immediately thought, 'Oh look, it's Mycroft Umbrella and Mrs Mycroft Umbrella.'. So of course I had to buy them, and today I brought home their new home within my home. Meet the Holmeses.







I think they're quite lovely. :-)

Thank you very much. :-) I thought I was going to go minimal with the stand but then I saw this one and fell in love. Oddly I found it online but it was at a local store so I was able to just go pick it up. I was very happy!

I've just finished spamming you actually, and all my umbrella love added to Little Things's fabulous Uncle Mycroft lead me to get all soppy toward the end. But I'm done for the moment - though I promise to get properly caught up soon now I'm done working until after the holiday. :-)

Also adoring the umbrella stand. And it's in good hands with you; people can see it. My umbrella stand is buried beneath shopping bags that are drying, waiting to go back to the car, etc. If you dig down far enough there are umbrellas, perhaps a cane, and an odd something-or-other that came with the house and doesn't have a readily apparent purpose.

It so is. I hadn't realized that umbrellas were things which used to be pretty rather than gaudy in addition to being useful. I need to track down the umbrella I've craved for years now that the internet makes all things possible - it is a black umbrella which has blue sky and fluffy white clouds on the underside. :-) I think I would actually be cheerful walking under such an umbrella.

Ah - OK - I admit to going rather nuts after that and buying the sky umbrella as well as the color wheel - here is the link to all the MoMa umbrellas for sale http://www.momastore.org/museum/moma/CategoryDisplay_10451_10001_26690_11539_-1_Y_Umbrellas and I think they at least have the sky umbrella available more cheaply and conveniently as a collapsible version. It also may be more widely available via a google search for shopping results of 'black umbrella blue sky clouds inside'.
