This entry brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] djarum99 because she is wonderful and check out my awesome icon she made for me!

One of the things I love about living here is that this is right down the street from where I live. Our city is wonderful and diverse and I love it. Happy belated Birthday, Buddah!

I am now officially on the lookout for shrines - everywhere I go.

I hit the Lincoln Park Conservatory.

Squee! Secret dinosaur! He was way up high, this is a lot of zoom.

Sadly...

And then the zoo, where this guy was playing dead.

Photobucket

Right. It was rainy on this day.

Only at the zoo

Kitty in a box!

Kitty not in a box!

And then I ran across the Farmers' Market that I knew was around somewhere but which I hadn't been to before.

I know what it actually means, but I'm enjoying the visual of someone petting his pet patch of grass.

Another little 'sort of' shrine

It's the new pet rock! Only better because it's actually alive!

Solid business model. Let's put it into action. Facebook - Pff.

I'm in - though you are possibly encouraging people to consume their pet. Marketing will have to be carefully handled...

Loved the pictures, all of them, especially the market and the zoo. For some reason that flamingo is mesmerizing - I could stare at those pink swirls all day ♥

(My cats insist on having their very own pet grass. It's only fair, I suppose.)

After I'd almost passed them by completely, it turned out that it was impossible to take a bad picture of the flamingos. The zoom on my camera is an amazing thing.

All kitties should have pet grass. Even the zoo kitties get super-sized patches!

I wish our new lion had been out to play. Sigh. I'm still waiting for a glimpse of him in person.
