So as you all breathlessly await my finishing up the MacBeth section *snerk* (I'm close, I promise!) you should read Improbable Reality here - http://flawedamythyst.livejournal.com/389257.html and its sequels. [livejournal.com profile] flawedamythyst's summary: Moriarty recaptures John and leaves him trapped in a world of hallucinations.

It's amazing, it really is. Even if you've already read them all, go reread again now, that's what I'm planning on doing as soon as I've posted this. :-)

Also, I actually had some time to browse a couple of the comms on which I have fallen so far behind and have discovered the delightful Little Things by [livejournal.com profile] bradspyjamas who has put quite a lot of thought into this Omegaverse thing - http://bradspyjamas.livejournal.com/13865.html and all that thought convinced me that I can handle reading one author who has impregnated (no, silly, Sherlock did the actual impregnating) John, also one of the suggested baby names on the table tickled me. Each chapter is a 221B, and it starts here with the first three. http://bradspyjamas.livejournal.com/13087.html Not all 60 chapters are yet posted, but they are written.

Everything by [livejournal.com profile] flawedamythyst is GORGEOUS.

Every time I see a "Round and round the garden" icon I (a) want to be able to play that with my nephew (he lives in Melbourne and while I have a tonne of photos I have yet to be able to see him in the flesh, hold him, blow raspberries on his tummy etc etc and I ACHE) and (b) want to know who played it with Little!Sherlock enough that He Who Deleted The Solar System still remembers it.

I know, right!!! She's utterly fabulous and I'm working my way through her stuff slowly so that I can savor it and it will last FOREVER - it's all worth reading over and over, so seriously FOREVER!

Oh man, bummer! I mean, it's cool that your nephew gets to live in Australia - I'd love to live in Australia! - but it's a bummer that that keeps him away from family. Family can be good.

Well, I've had to pretty much write off Sherlock's weaponized parents in the you can imagine 'verse, but I think Pirate!Sherlock's parents were considerably more indulgent - though I think they probably died young, leaving Mycroft with the burden of parenting their second son, so I may very well insert that as an especially fond memory...

Heh. My little brother went out there for a year. Five years ago. And has just taken Residency. He got married out there and I couldn't attend the wedding (because of my back, a three hour car ride to the airport and then 24 hours in a plane. Not a good combination). Missing my only nephew is only part of it.

I do get to see photos and hear him burble on the phone. But that doesn't really make up for the not holding.

The not holding is kind of insurmountable.

The internet is only a partial fix, but is at least better than what came before.

I, too, love flawed amethyst.
So to find myself mentioned in the same rec as her ... I'm feeling a little giddy right now! Thank you!

You are very welcome (as well as worth the rec) and I'm perfectly happy if this post ends up turning into lots and lots of love for flawedamethyst fic! It is all worth reading, the Improbable Reality 'verse is simply how I initially encountered her fic, and therefore near and dear to my heart :-) as well as super excellent and wonderful and oh, so very touching...

We're spelling it wrong. No, not exactly, she's spelling it differently because she's an amy...sorry, I had to address, because spelling is important!

I'm blaming my autocorrect!
And offering apologies to flawedamythyst - spelling is very important!

autocorrect is not only to blame, it is an offender. *glares at it, much like it was a plot bunny*

User names are difficult when it comes to spelling, I often feel I should have added an underscore between words. And, you know, people are clever and such...

Oh, now I want to start an lj account named autocorrect - this is so very wrong...
